Oxford United have seen their match away at Reading postponed due to the international break.
The U’s are in devastating form right now and have won five League One games in succession, so fans will be hoping to enforced break won’t stop the club’s momentum.
No Fixture for Oxford United: U’s Must Keep Momentum After the International Break
Not the First International Break This Season
The U’s also saw their match away to Lincoln in September postponed for the same reason.
That said, Liam Manning’s side had just lost their second game of the season at home against Port Vale, so the break would have allowed some time on the training ground to make things right.
And make things right they did. The U’s won six of their following seven games in all competitions, with five out of five in the league.
In-Form Oxford United
Those five wins have kept Manning’s side in touching distance of the top spot in League One.
The U’s are just one place and one point behind leaders Portsmouth, but they have one game in hand on the south coast club.
Manning, and fans alike, will be hopeful that they can produce a similar run of results as they did after the last international break. In the league, Oxford have scored 14 goals and conceded just twice.
Upcoming Fixtures
Looking at the fixture list, Oxford fans will be excited to see where the points are going to come from.
After the Port Vale match, Manning’s side faced Exeter and Stevenage – two teams that were in and around the top four when the sides met.
After the break, the U’s welcome tenth-placed Blackpool, who have picked up just one win from their five away trips, followed by a trip to Wigan, who sit 23rd in the table with just one win in their last seven league games.
Oxford then return home to face Wycombe before ending the month with the rescheduled trip to Lincoln.
