Benjamin Pavard and Jean-Clair Todibo were the two names on the club’s radar this summer. However, both the deals did not come to fruition because the 20-time Premier League champions failed to offload Harry Maguire. The English defender was close to joining West Ham, but the deal collapsed in the final stages. Pavard has since then moved to Inter Milan and is no longer a possibility for the English club. Todibo still remains on the club’s list according to Romano.

Todibo remains a top target, with the young defender impressing with his performances for Nice. The Italian journalist suggested that, although the club is actively discussing the prospect of bringing in a central defender, it heavily depends on the potential departure of Maguire.

The “monster” defender recently signed a contract extension with the Bundesliga club, which could be a hurdle in their pursuit of the player. Antonio Silva of Benfica is another name on the list for United. The 19-year-old centre-back seems to have impressed the club’s scouts and is one of the players considered.
