Fabrizio Romano has revealed a piece of exciting news for Liverpool fans. The journalist confirmed that the Reds have reached an agreement with their defender, Kostas Tsimikas to sign a contract extension.

Tsimikas Has Signed a Long Term Deal With Liverpool
After weeks of negotiations and discussions, the Anfield-based club have reached an agreement with their reliable full-back. The Greek footballer has committed his future to the Premier League club by signing an extension which will keep him with the club till the summer of 2027.

The player was happy to have signed a new deal with the club and he said: “I feel very glad to be here to extend my contract. I feel like all the sacrifices I did and other things, the work I put in, that everything pays off”. According to reports, the Merseyside club’s manager, Jurgen Klopp was keen on securing the player’s services for the foreseeable future.

Tsimikas’ Liverpool Career So Far
The “excellent” defender was signed by the six-time Champions League winners in the summer of 2020. He joined from Greek club Olympiacos and Liverpool paid a transfer fee in the region of £11.75 million to acquire his services. The Greece international has stepped up whenever the club’s first-choice left-back, Andy Robertson has been unavailable. Tsimikas’ has been a solid backup option for Klopp ever since he was signed.

The 27-year-old’s most memorable moment with the Reds came at Wembley in 2022 when he stepped up to score the winning penalty in the FA Cup final shootout against Chelsea. He has played 63 times for the Premier League side providing 12 assists for his teammates.
