How Leicester City Have Lined-up Recently

Manager Enzo Maresca made wholesale changes against Norwich City on Wednesday night. Despite the five changes made, the East Midlands team came away with three points after securing a hard fought 2-0 victory.

The Italian manager, as anticipated, displayed the strength in depth within the squad and gave first league starts to Cesare Casadei and Hamza Choudhury. Kelechi Iheanacho started in the striker role and scored the opening goal.

Although Ricardo Pereira, a mainstay in the league team this season was rested, Choudhury was able to fill the flexible defender/midfielder role that has been adopted by Maresca.

Leicester City Recent Form and Tactics

Having won six of their first seven league games, the Midlands club currently sit in the second automatic promotion place, one point off the leaders Preston North End who remain unbeaten after seven league games.  The top three team, which include newly promoted Ipswich Town have built a five-point cushion to fourth-placed Sunderland who have amassed thirteen points.

The Italian manager has continued to implement a system whereby the ball is played to feet from the back, with goalkeeper Mads Hermansen very comfortable with this style of play. His confidence and assurance is of paramount importance and assists defenders around him. There is evidence that the style of football demanded by the manager is beginning to come to fruition and this should improve as the season unfolds.

With a number of key players rested midweek, Maresca will once again shuffle his pack in order to keep the squad fresh and protect his players from an exhausting schedule. Conor Coady will be pushing for a first appearance and his involvement in some form seems imminent.

Bristol City come to the King Power in good form, unbeaten in their last three games securing seven points and currently sitting in seventh place with twelve points. The fixture also sees the return of three familiar faces with former manager Nigel Pearson, midfielder Matty James and club legend Andy King back at the King Power.

Leicester City Injuries to Consider

Midfielder Dennis Praet is 8 weeks away from being considered for selection with a back injury.  Summer signing Tom Cannon also has a back injury with no idea of a timeframe for his return. There are no other injury concerns.

Leicester City Predicted Lineup

Mads Hermansen, Ricardo Pereira, Wout Faes, Callum Doyle, Jaanik Vestergaard, Harry Winks, Wilfred Ndidi, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Abdul Fatawu, Jamie Vardy, Kasey McAteer
