Last Word on Football predicts the Arsenal lineup for their clash with Man Utd, with the Gunners looking to return to winning ways – after a disappointing home draw against Fulham. Arsenal will look to continue their fine home form against Erik ten Hag’s side, who have failed to win at the Emirates since 2017.

Arsenal Predicted Lineup vs. Man Utd

How the Gunners have Lined-Up in Recently: Zinchenko Set to Return

The return to full fitness of Ukrainian international defender Oleksandr Zinchenko could hardly have come at a better time for the Gunners as they look to prepare for the stern test of Man Utd. The knock-on effect is that the Thomas Partey at right-back experiment will likely be over, as Mikel Arteta has never played with two inverted fullbacks. This leaves the door open for Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is available again after serving his one-game suspicion for a red card at Crystal Palace.

The exile of Gabriel Magalhaes to the bench – is showing no sign of stopping, so expect Ben White and William Saliba to form the centre-back partnership. Despite the English transfer window slamming shut, the Brazilian international could still move to Saudi Arabia with their window open – for a further seven days.

Arsenal Recent Form and Tactics

Partey could move into midfield to play alongside Rice, a move many Arsenal fans have been longing to see. The two played together in their impressive Community Shield victory over Man City. Playing both holding midfielders allows the Gunners to limit the impact of Bruno Fernandes on proceedings.

Alongside Partey and Rice, Martin Odergaard looks likely to play the creative role, although Fabio Vieira can count himself unlucky after making an incredible impact off the bench against Fulham.

Arsenal Injuries to Consider

It was great to see Gabriel Jesus getting his first minutes this season against Fulham after injury had postponed his start to the season. But Arteta will not rush Jesus back into the starting lineup.

The only long-term injury for the Gunners remains summer signing Jurrien Timber, whose earliest return date is March of next year.

The return of Zinchenko and Jesus from injury and Tomiyasu from suspension will be very welcome for Arteta, who managed to get the likes of Rob Holding, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Folarin Balogun, Nuno Tavares, and Kieran Tierney out of the Emirates in the past week.
