Leeds United are having a bit of a wild transfer deadline day and it looks like it might even get better for them, as they have received an important update on the future of young winger Wilfried Gnonto.

Gnonto Involved in Late Transfer Drama
Sport Italia’s Federico Calabrese has confirmed that Gnonto is now expected to stay at Leeds for the rest of this season amid his links to Everton. The journalist claims the young winger “moves away” from the Merseyside club as the summer transfer window comes to a close.

Calabrese reiterates that Gnonto should now “ultimately remain” at Elland Road despite being involved in such a lot of transfer drama over the last few months. The Italian winger had reportedly asked his side to let him leave earlier this summer and tried to push for an exit, with Everton strongly linked to sign him.
However, no club was able to agree a deal with the Whites, who stood firm in their stance of not selling the Italian and keeping him in Daniel Farke’s squad for this season at least. It now appears that the winger should play for Leeds this season, as he’ll aim to help them get promoted back to the Premier League.
What Is Next for the Forward at Leeds?
After being involved in such a transfer saga in recent months, Gnonto will probably have to work really hard to earn back the Leeds faithful. The 19-year-old was one of the Whites’ best players last season, scoring five goals and providing as many assists across all competitions.

The youngster is very versatile, being able to play anywhere across the frontline, be it in either wing or even as a centre-forward if required. The Italian, who was hailed as a “special talent” earlier this year, has made three appearances for Leeds this season despite questions around his future, scoring an important goal in the win over Ipswich Town last week.
