Evans’ Return to Man Utd
Manchester United initially signed Evans on a ‘short-term’ deal in July, allowing him to participate in the club’s preseason games, with the contract originally set to expire in August.
However, due to the club’s injury crisis affecting Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane, he will now join the team on a free transfer for a one-year deal. His performance during the preseason games and his ‘experience’ were factors considered by Erik ten Hag in making this decision.

There were also rumours suggesting that the manager was not convinced by the former captain, Harry Maguire, who was slated to leave the club in the summer window but, unfortunately, had his deal collapse.
Final Targets That Have Been Sealed for the Club
The club’s initial priority for replacing the injured Luke Shaw at the left-back position was to secure Marc Cucurella on loan from Chelsea. However, the deal was called off last night, and the Red Devils have now successfully signed Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham on a loan instead.

Manchester United sought a loan agreement with an option to break the loan stint in January, but as reported by Fabrizio Romano, this option was not feasible with Cucurella.
