Who is Ilia Gruev
Whites fans are unlikely to know much about the Bulgarian, with links to Gruev being incredibly recent. He primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, an expert in breaking up play and handing the ball off to those around him to create more chances. None of his attacking stats even exceed the first quartile, but his passing accuracy of 85% is excellent, with the ability to be strong in the tackle and support the defensive line.

What does a Leeds United Ilia Gruev Move Look Like?
In his report, Phil Hay states that the Elland Road side are looking to pay around £5 million for the player, with no mention of any add-ons depending on whether the club is able to get promoted by the end of the season. For someone who is functionally a Tyler Adams replacement, this is incredible value for money that could seriously see the squad step up another level. He doesn’t just add more depth, but a high level of quality.

Remaining Leeds United Transfers
The Whites are set to do more work before the end of the window, with The Athletic claiming that another central midfielder is likely to join, one of Matt O’Reilly and Glen Kamara being the most likely incoming options. Outside of these deals, any more business is likely to be reactive to the rest of the market, such as losing key players or major targets becoming available unexpectedly.
