‘Here We Go’: Fabrizio Romano Drops ‘Shock’ Tottenham Update with ‘Generational’ Spurs Target Now Set to Join Another Club

Tottenham Hotspur are the Favourites to Sign Ansu Fati

Despite their impressive start to the Premier League season, Tottenham Hotspur, who are yet to lose a match in the English top flight, are about to suffer a defeat in the transfer market. The club had been pursuing 20-year-old Spanish forward Ansu Fati of Barcelona, with the hopes of getting him on loan for this campaign, but Fabrizio Romano has reported that the youngster is headed to another team instead.

Tottenham showed interest in signing Fati on loan but were beaten out by the Seagulls. The youngster, who has been described as a “generational talent,” now joins the Albion who are looking to embark on a historic European campaign.

Personal Terms Agreed

David Ornstein of The Athletic stated that a personal agreement is in place between the club and the Barcelona youngster. The English journalist confirmed that the youngster’s medical will take place on Thursday, and then the move will be done. Tottenham had been pursuing the Spaniard, but Spurs are now “prioritising a different type of forward”.

No Permanent Move for Ansu Fati?

According to ESPN, Fati’s decision to leave on the season-long loan was due in part to his efforts in “maintaining his link with Barca.” A La Masia product, the 20-year-old reigning UEFA Nations League winner does not believe his time with the Catalan club is up.

Several people in the forward’s life had been advising him on a move this season. His agent and father, as well as Barcelona themselves, all believe that the African-born Spanish international will not break back into the first team until he has proven himself again with another team.

Brighton Win Big As Tottenham Rue Missed Chance

Fati “is understood to have been impressed” by the manner in which Brighton play their football under Italian coach Roberto de Zerbi. The manager now has another excellent player on his squad, as he tries to steer them towards even greater heights.

Tottenham, meanwhile, will spend this season focusing on the league. Last campaign they fell short of the European spots in the Premier League table, but thanks to their early exit in the EFL Cup, Ange Postecoglou has little to worry about distracting his club as he hopes to conduct a top-seven domestic performance.
