Everton Finalise Deal for Beto from Udinese

Transfer Fee Reported

Fabrizio Romano stated that Everton will be sending Udinese nearly £26 million in exchange for the 25-year-old. It will be a permanent move for the former Benfica youth academy player, who also just missed out on representing Portugal at last year’s World Cup finals.

Desperate Need for Striker Like Beto

The Toffees have been looking for a player with scoring potential like Beto. In two seasons with Udinese, he has scored 11 and ten goals respectively. Everton, meanwhile, are the only Premier League club that are yet to have scored a goal through the first three games of the campaign.

Losses to Fulham, Aston Villa and Wolves have left Sean Dyche’s squad with a minus-six goal differential, and no points to show. Arnaut Danjuma, on loan from La Liga club Villarreal, started up front in their match against Wolves. Youngster Thomas Cannon was his substitute.

Both Danjuma and Cannon have shown flashes of brilliance in their careers, but Beto’s current form suggests his signing will immediately thrust him into the starting lineup. The Portuguese footballer has been described as “amazing,” and his best performances will be required to keep the Merseyside outfit in the English top flight.

Potential Toffee Departures and Arrivals

Everton are expected to be a busy team as the transfer window winds down. With only a couple of days to go, Dyche will need to decide who stays and who goes. One player who has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park is Alex Iwobi. The Nigerian is essential to their squad, but if Fulham offer enough for the midfielder then a sale could potentially take place.

Reports from Italy suggest that Swiss centre-back Marco Elvedi is the next target for the last-place Toffees. He currently plays for Bundesliga outfit Monchengladbach, and domestic rivals Wolves have been pursuing him as well. For now, though, the biggest signing for Everton’s survival hopes has been the purchase of Beto, and the scoring instinct he will bring to the club.
