City submitted their first bid for the Wolves midfielder a few days ago for a fee in the region of £47 million, including add-ons, which was rejected. According to Romano, the blue half of Manchester have sent a new bid in excess of £52 million to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Italian journalist reported that the negotiations are now in the final stages, and the Champions League holders are increasingly confident of landing the “incredible” midfielder before the transfer window shuts. Pep Guardiola is reportedly a big fan of the Portuguese international.
