The report from Standard Sport reveals that Manchester are interested in a loan deal for Chelsea defender Cucurella, who reportedly earns 175k per week. First-choice left-back Shaw suffered an injury in training recently, with Erik ten Hag confirming he would be out for longer than Mason Mount, who is expected to miss up to six weeks with a hamstring problem.

The update mentions that Manchester United have also been linked with Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon and Barcelona defender Marcus Alonso, with the club looking for a suitable solution to their left back injury problems.

More Options for United and Availability of Cucurella
According to the update, Manchester United are also missing Tyrell Malacia, who is also currently out injured, while Brandon Williams is out on loan to Championship club Ipswich. Alvaro Fernandez could be an in-house option to solve the team’s injury woes, with Diogo Dalot playing the role – in their win over Nottingham Forest on August 26.

Cucurella was often criticised last season as he struggled to shine in an underperforming Chelsea team, following his move from Brighton. The update from Kinsella and Flood mentions that Chelsea have been open to selling Cucrella this summer, with the defender linked to Atletico Madrid and a possible move to the Saudi Pro League.
Despite the willingness of the London club to sell the Spanish defender, it remains to be seen – if they will sanction his sale to a Premier League rival.
