Chelsea in Search of an Attacker to Bolster Their Frontline
Chelsea Prepare Three-Man Shortlist
Kinsella reported that Chelsea are weighing up moves for three players to bolster their attack. The Blues have been plagued with injuries since the start of the season, with summer signing Christopher Nkunku sustaining a long-term injury. Carney Chukwuemeka and Mykhailo Mudryk are the latest additions – to the Stamford Bridge injury list. Crystal Palace player Olise was on the verge of joining the London club before the deal collapsed at the last moment. The young Englishman would have been the attacking reinforcement Mauricio Pochettino needed for his squad.

Nottingham Forest’s versatile forward Brennan Johnson, Ajax’s Mohamed Kudus and Olympique Lyon’s Bradley Barcola are the players on the club’s radar. Kudus is reportedly very close to signing for West Ham United, and Barcola is a priority target for PSG, who are the favourites to land the player. Out of the three, Johnson seems like the most likely transfer target. The Forest man can play across the frontline in all three positions, which is an important trait for a modern-day attacker.
The Blues Activity in the Transfer Market
Chelsea have solidified their midfield this season by signing Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. They have also signed Robert Sanchez to upgrade their goalkeeping position after the departure of Edouard Mendy to the Saudi Pro League. After a disappointing 2022/23 season, Todd Boehly has spent big this summer to ensure a higher finish in the league table and potentially qualify for Europe.
