Everton are enduring another rough start to a season. The Toffees have lost to Aston Villa and Fulham, both times without scoring a goal. In an attempt to change their fortunes, the Merseyside outfit are eyeing a player in Serie A. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Udinese striker Beto has been the target of an improved Everton bid.

Everton Make Offer for Beto
The offer, according to Romano, is over £25 million. Beto has been on Everton’s radars since January, and it appears they are ready to pursue him more purposefully. Sitting in last place in the league table, the Toffees will likely have to offer the Italian team more money for their star man.

Beto’s release clause in his Udinese contract is around £30 million. That gap between the initial offer and what the Serie A outfit want – is something that Everton will have to work on if they want an attacker who has the ability to “spook defenders.”
The Dramatic Rise of Beto
As recently as seven years ago, he was working at KFC while playing at the Portuguese amateur level. But he had the desire to reach the highest possible level in football.
“I had a positive mentality,” Beto said in the GOAL interview. Within four years, the striker worked his way through the levels of the Portuguese league system and eventually to a Primeira Liga team.

Dyche’s club are suffering from their opening two defeats. Off the field, the club’s financial woes will also be a cause for concern for everyone associated with the club. If the Toffees cannot get proper funding for their new stadium, there are chances that they will need to divert funds away from purchasing new players. This could be Everton’s last transfer window where they can buy Beto, before another club signs him.
