How Chelsea have Lined Up Recently
With injuries taking a toll already, there have been some shakeups to the lineup already. Trying to work around those the set defensive line has been Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva and Malo Gusto lining out ahead of Robert Sanchez in goals.

In front of the back line, the defensive midfield pivot has so far been occupied by Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher. Nicolas Jackson is leading the line with Carney Chukwuemeka, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell lining up as the attacking midfield trio. That is set to change due to the injury suffered by Chukwuemeka.
Chelsea Recent Form and Tactics
Mauricio Pochettino has been steadfast in his 4-2-3-1 formation so far despite the awkward fit for some of the players. While it’s possible they transition into more of a 3-4-3 when out of possession they very much put Colwill at left-back with Chilwell being a winger in this system.

The tactical setup has been somewhat fruitful as the team remained undefeated in pre-season and drew with Liverpool on opening day before crashing back to earth against West Ham. Wins haven’t been guaranteed but losses haven’t been all that common either.
Chelsea Injuries to Consider
As always the medical room at Stamford Bridge is full to the brim. The injured list is almost the same as last week with Armando Broja and Benoit Badiashile still not fit. Reece James, Wesley Fofana, and Trevoh Chalobah are missing from the defensive side. Christopher Nkunku is a long-term absentee while Marcus Bettinelli remains sidelined.
The newest names on the list are Chukwuemeka and Mykhailo Mudryk, while Romeo Lavia is also not considered fit enough to start according to Pochettino. This newest slate of injuries could open the door for the “skilful” Noni Madueke to break into the starting eleven.
