Romano claims that the Reds ended up moving on to sign Wataru Endo from Stuttgart to bolster their midfield line. That is why they are no longer in talks to sign the Moroccan midfielder and have stopped their conversations with his representatives too. The Italian states that the potential of signing the 27-year-old was a “possibility for 24 hours” before they identified the Japanese midfielder as a better fit, leaving the race with United for his signature.

This could actually be great news for the Red Devils, who are claimed to be weighing up the decision to make an official bid to sign the midfielder soon. Amid this interest, Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano revealed that Amrabat is training on his own right now and will not be picked for their upcoming game against Rapid Wien in a UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier, as he said: “Amrabat is training on his own, he won’t travel with us for next game.”

Erik ten Hag’s side recently sold Fred to open up some space in their midfield line, and they are also trying to sell Donny van de Beek. They are reportedly working on the signing of a new goalkeeper and made Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir undergo some pre-medical tests before the possibility of signing him.

The Moroccan midfielder was hailed as “extraordinary” by ex-Spain manager Luis Enrique during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where he helped take his side to the semi-finals. With the 27-year-old midfielder reportedly waiting for the Red Devils to sign him, it remains to be seen if the Premier League heavyweights can get a deal formalized soon and sign him to bulk up their midfield line.
