According to Florian Plettenberg, Nadiem Amiri is now “very open” to a move to Leeds United, with Bayer Leverkusen and the Whites approaching an agreement. Daniel Farke reportedly wants the signing, especially as he adds much-needed depth at number ten. He currently earns just under £47k-per-week at the Bundesliga club.
Leeds United Target Nadiem Amiri ‘Very Open’ to Move
The Nadiem Amiri Saga So Far
The midfielder’s potential move to Elland Road has been incredibly complex so far. He initially rejected a move to the Yorkshire club as he preferred the idea of playing for Marseille, with the Leeds United hierarchy being informed of this decision. As time went on, however, the two foreign clubs were unable to form an agreement.
With Farke’s side being close to a fee and Amiri being open to playing under a manager who desires his services, the Whites are in the driving seat to complete the move.

Why Leeds United Need Nadiem Amiri
Leeds could benefit hugely from a talent such as Nadiem Amiri, primarily because of the large gap that has emerged at number ten. Whilst there are very few fit strikers, one of the Whites’ more creative players, Georginio Rutter, has been forced to play out of position. The club has suffered from a lack of playmakers as a result.
Bringing in the German would not only introduce a greater level of creativity but could help the rest of the side to better suit the manager’s system. His Norwich side relied on creativity from the likes of Todd Cantwell and Emi Buendia, so finding a player that suits this mould is perfect.

This move comes amidst a raft of Leeds transfer news, with the potential signing of Joel Piroe being one of the more significant developments. He is set for a medical with the club, and could be pivotal to reinforcing the squad in essential areas.
