Nicolo Zaniolo Set to Travel to England to Complete Aston Villa Move

Who Is Zaniolo?

A graduate of the Serie A side and last season’s UEFA Europa Conference League finalists Fiorentina’s youth academy, the Italian star gained acclaim during his years at AS Roma after breaking through in 2018.

He gained a reputation for being a silky midfielder with a lot of flair in his game. The 24-year-old is an impressive dribbler who loves to get past his man with his trickery and is physically well-built for the Premier League. Zaniolo is a versatile player who can operate in multiple roles in midfield, especially that of a number ten where he can create more chances.

Moreover, he can play as a winger if necessary, creating chances from wide areas as well as dragging into central areas of the pitch to score wonderful goals. He made 12 appearances for Galatasaray last season, scoring five goals. He made 128 appearances in his career at Roma, scoring 24 goals and providing 18 assists in all competitions.

The Details of the Deal

Romano has confirmed that Villa will be signing the 24-year-old on an initial loan deal for the rest of the 2023/24 season. However, the deal does have a buy option in it, which could turn into a mandatory buy clause at the end of the loan spell if certain conditions are met.

It is also reported that the entire potential package is worth around  £25.8 million (including add-ons) if all the performance-related clauses are met. The Italian journalist adds that Zaniolo is ready to fly into Birmingham to undergo his medical with the Premier League side before he can sign the necessary contracts and become a new player for Unai Emery’s side.

This could be an impressive coup for the Villans, who have already had a pretty solid transfer window and signed promising players like Moussa Diaby, Pau Torres and Youri Tielemans.
