What Have Manchester City Planned Regarding Silva’s Future?
Barcelona are reported to be eyeing a move for the Portuguese midfielder to come in as the replacement for Ousmane Dembele, who is rumoured to be on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain.

Romano has given an update on the Spanish giant’s aim of signing the City star, claiming that the European champions have told them that they have no intention to open negotiations over the possible transfer of Bernardo Silva.
Romano also adds that the Premier League heavyweights plan to offer a new contract to Silva, whose current deal runs until June 2025. Romano further adds that the player’s stance will be crucial in the contract negotiation process, but that City have been strong on their message about his future and clear on their desire to tie him down to a long-term deal.
What Else Are Barcelona Working On?
Amid their chase to sign the Portugal international, Barcelona are also reported to be in talks with the English champions to sign right-back Joao Cancelo. This comes after manager Xavi Hernandez publicly voiced his desire to sign a “pure right-back” after his side’s recent win over AC Milan during pre-season.

The La Liga side have shown a lot of interest in signing Silva in this transfer window, and Manchester City‘s reluctance to enter negotiations will be a blow to the Catalan giants. The 28-year-old, who was hailed as “unbelievable” by teammate Kevin de Bruyne last season, is yet to make any public comment on his future.
