Manchester United have held secret talks with Serie A side Fiorentina and expect to reach an agreement for Sofyan Amrabat soon, according to journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

Pedulla’s report claims that the Premier League club and the Italian side have used intermediaries to discuss a deal for the Moroccan midfielder and that aan agreement will be reached soon. With Fiorentina’s sale of Gaetano Castrovilli to AFC Bournemouth on the verge of completion, the club has now turned their attention to selling Amrabat to the Red Devils.
United’s target is keen on a move and has wanted a transfer to Old Trafford since June, despite receiving offers from Saudi clubs.

How Much Will a Transfer for the Moroccan Cost?
With only one year remaining on the midfielder’s contract, Erik ten Hag’s side are likely to get a cut price from Fiorentina. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Manchester club may need to pay £30 million to prise Amrabat away from Italy, although the club will seek to knock that price down.
It is understood that United have not made an official bid to Fiorentina yet, as they seek to reach a verbal agreement with the club. With the midfielder waiting for a transfer to be approved amid secretive talks between the clubs, it appears that a deal is very likely and could be completed soon.
The Red Devils are currently in talks with Real Sociedad to sell Donny van de Beek and are expected to let go of fellow central midfielder Fred in order to raise funds for their purchase of the Fiorentina player.

Whilst he has been praised heavily for his defensive abilities, scouts will have noticed his exceptional passing range and accuracy too, which will be vital to fitting into Erik ten Haag’s developing system at United. These abilities will allow him to provide defensive cover for key creators such as Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen, as well as strong progressive passing that will link the defensive and attacking sides of the team.
The midfielder could be the missing link that allows United to thrive and control the tempo of matches under their Dutch manager’s possession-heavy system.
