Romelu Lukaku is trying to expedite a deal that would see him leave Chelsea and join Italian giants Juventus. Prominent journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Belgian already has “an agreement in place” for a three-year deal to join the Serie A side, with an option to extend for a further year.

A Swap Deal Will be Complex
Romano reports that the Italian side are insistent on this being a swap deal, one which would send Dusan Vlahovic in the other direction.
The Old Lady are still focusing on a swap deal that would see The Blues include a fee of £34 million to compensate for the difference in age and value of the two players. Romano’s report states that the Londoners are still waiting to decide if they truly want to pursue the Serbian.

New manager Mauricio Pochettino will play a large role in getting the deal done, with the manager’s approval likely to be sought by club bosses. With Lukaku expressing his desire for the move to happen, and Juventus having made the offer, the Argentine coach will be key in making or breaking this player swap.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has told the press that a big-money offer for Vlahovic would not be refused. After disastrous events occurred at the club this past season, including a ten-point deduction following charges of false accounting, the team will jump at the chance to increase their financial stability and acquire a star loanee from last season’s Inter Milan squad.
The 30-year-old striker has ambitions to expand his silverware collection in top-flight European football. He would, however, be joining the Italian’s at a time where they face legal and financial concerns, but the Belgian is close to completing a deal to join the historic team.
Romelu Lukaku’s Last Dance
Lukaku has an unfortunate record in cup finals, losing at the final stage of competitions with Chelsea, Manchester United, and Inter. So far, a Champions League, Europa League, two FA Cups, and two UEFA Super Cups have evaded Lukaku at the last hurdle, but he has won a Serie A with Nerazzurri and a Club World Cup with the Blues.

With hundreds of goals scored in his career so far, the Belgium international hopes to help guide his potential new employers to a Serie A title or European silverware. He will, however, have to wait for a European campaign with the Italian giants, who have been banned from next season’s UEFA competitions as a result of breaches of Financial Fair Play regulations and Licensing rules.
Should a swap deal reach completion, Lukaku’s deal with Juventus would see him given three shots to lead The Old Lady to another Scudetto, or even another Champions League conquest.
