The Reds’ initial offer for the 19-year-old talent was turned down by Southampton, holding out for their valuation of £50 million. They believe they can get a better offer for the in-demand midfielder. The Italian journalist reported on social media that the Anfield side will send their second bid of £45 million. Interest From Other Premier League Clubs
Although the bid does not match Southampton’s demands, the official bid could further advance the negotiations towards a potential completion. Other Premier League giants, Arsenal and Chelsea were also interested in signing the former Manchester City prodigy. Arsenal are reported to be out of the race owing to the possibility of Thomas Partey staying at the club. Chelsea on the other hand are still reported to be interested in the youngster according to the latest update.
Watch: Romeo Lavia is the perfect player for Klopp
What Qualities Lavia Will Bring to Liverpool
The seasoned midfield duo of Henderson and Fabinho have left the six-time Champions League winners this summer. Both players have joined the long list of European elites leaving for the Saudi Pro League. This leaves a gaping hole in the deep-midfield position for the Reds. The teenage prodigy is seen as the replacement for the position. The impressive performances of the Saint’s teenager has led to some dubbing him as a “generational talent.”

Lavia usually plays as a lone pivot and is seen as the perfect replacement for departing Fabinho. The Belgian youngster is a combative and high-energy midfielder which will suit Jurgen Klopp’s high-intensity game. The 19-year-old’s press resistance makes him very useful in the early buildup phase. He is effective in both attacking and defensive phases, which will help the German manager to fill the void left by the exit of Henderson and Fabinho.
