What’s the Latest on the Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United Transfer Saga
On Saturday, United’s pursuit of Hojlund, who Alfredo Pedulla reports will cost around £64 million, has ramped up tremendously.
Their Wednesday night friendly against Real Madrid in Texas illustrated their absolute need for a new striker – a sentiment with which Erik ten Hag agreed in his post-match press conference – and this could be what has spurred them into action over the last few days.
Regardless, it now looks as though the deal is on the verge of completion following the latest reports.

AFC Bournemouth-focused journalist Mark McAdam noted while covering the South Coast side’s friendly against Atalanta that it appeared Hojlund was “saying his goodbyes” to his teammates on the pitch, shaking their hands before kickoff and demonstrating his preparation for joining United. Hojlund was named on the bench for the Italian side in their friendly on Saturday afternoon, which Fabrizio Romano reports was in a bid to avoid any risks as the deal gets closer.
The transfer insider revealed in the same tweet that United and Atalanta are getting closer to an agreement, with the two sides deciding it would be best for Hojlund not to start the friendly game.
This concurs with various reports from Saturday, including McAdam who also mentioned that it was “only a matter of time” before the deal was done.
