It appears that Hojlund’s move to Northern England is on the verge of completion after various updates on Saturday revealed how advanced the deal was becoming.

The striker did not appear in Atalanta’s 3-1 victory over Premier League side AFC Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, remaining on the bench for the whole match. This, reports Fabrizio Romano, was a decision made by the Italian side in conjunction with United to avoid any risk of injury ahead of the potential transfer.

The Italian transfer insider also claims that negotiations are in their “final stages”, with discussions now being centred around the structure of add-ons. With talks reaching this level of advancement, one can assume it is highly unlikely that the deal will fall through. It’s not impossible, though.

Fans of the Red Devils will be desperate to see this transfer get over the line, having put up with a rather blunt attack for a number of years.

Hojlund would provide a youthful yet clinical influence up front for Erik ten Hag’s side, and, as per Pedulla’s latest report, this move is closer than ever before.

The journalist claims that both of the clubs involved want to reach an agreement within the “next few hours”, and that the countdown is on ahead of the completion of what he calls “one of the most important deals of the transfer window”.
