However, Postecoglou has given an interesting update on his future as had this to say after Spurs’ 5-1 win over the Lion City Sailors in the Tiger Cup final: “I’m here mate you don’t have to go all the way to Spain, just ask the question… I’m really happy with Gio.
“He’s been really good in training. You can see he’s a quality player and I think the way we play suits him. I’ve enjoyed working with him and I think he’s enjoying himself in terms of the football we want to play and yeah it’s going well.”

The manager’s interesting update indicates that the 27-year-old midfielder might actually stay at North London for the upcoming campaign and actively play a part in his plans. The Australian manager has already made some solid additions in the form of James Maddison from Leicester City, as well as a new goalkeeper in Guglielmo Vicario and a new winger in Manor Solomon.

The Lilywhites are reportedly pushing to sign a new centre-back in Bayer Leverkusen man Edmond Tapsoba and are also linked with a move for Chelsea star Conor Gallagher. However, it remains to be seen if they actually sign a new midfielder if Lo Celso stays. The Argentine midfielder, who arrived at the club for £55 million in 2019 and was called a ‘top player’ last year, has made 84 appearances for the team in his career, although his one was in January 2022.
