Paris Saint Germain have put their superstar, Kylian Mbappe up for sale and want to sell him as soon as possible, reports Fabrizio Romano. The French forward’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2024, and PSG are keen on selling the player in this transfer window as they do not want to lose him on a free next summer.
This represents a major boost for Sheikh Jassim if he is successful in his bid to buy Manchester United, with Christian Falk among those to have reported that Mbappe is among the Qatari’s potential targets for the Old Trafford club.

Dropped From The Pre-Season Squad; Now Considered For Sale
The Parisian club announced their squad for the upcoming pre-season tour to Japan and South Korea on 21 July, but Mbappe was not part of the 29-man list which added more fuel to the fire amidst the ongoing contract disputes.
According to Romano, the Ligue 1 champions have put their all-time top goalscorer up for sale as they do not want him to leave for free next year. The Parisians would prefer to cash in on the “sensational” forward this summer and are open to offers from other clubs.

The Italian journalist further reported that the club will not veto any side’s offer which means that no solution is out of the question.
PSG’s stance is clear: they want to sell the forward in this window and have already begun their plans without him starting with the pre-season tour in Asia.
No Communication Despite Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s Ultimatum
Earlier in July, PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi issued an ultimatum to his star player with a public statement. The president made the club’s position very clear by stating that if Mbappe wants to stay he must sign a new contract with the club. He further emphasized that the club do not want to lose their superstar on a free transfer in 2024.
Al-Khelaifi stated in his press conference: “We do not want him to leave for free in 2024.
“Our position is clear. If Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay. But he needs to sign a new contract. We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free, it’s impossible”.
Despite this ultimatum from the CEO of the club, Romano reports that there was no communication from the Frenchman or his camp regarding a renewal.
Saudi Arabia Could Rival European Clubs
On Monday, Romano once again gave a major update on the Mbappe situation.
He revealed that Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal have made a £259 million bid to Paris Saint-Germain for the Frenchman whose contract is due to expire next summer.
Considering the incredible fee being offered and PSG’s willingness to sell Mbappe, this could be a deal that progresses quickly. However, talks have not begun with the player, and convincing such a talent to leave European football is likely to be the biggest hurdle facing Al Hilal.
