Napoli have no plans to sell striker Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window, the club’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed. The Nigerian striker has been linked with a move to Manchester United, but that looks extremely unlikely now.

Manchester United Learn Victor Osimhen Fate
Napoli president de Laurentiis: “We will see Victor Osimhen wearing our shirt next season, that’s for sure”. 🔵🇳🇬
“Then if a ‘more than indecent proposal arrives, we will move on and find another top talent as we did with Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen”. pic.twitter.com/D2GXxG7E3b

What Napoli President Said About Osimhen’s Future
The 24-year-old forward had a defining season with the Serie A giants in the 22/23 campaign, helping them win the Scudetto and scoring 26 goals in 32 appearances in the league – as well as five in six Champions League games.

Amid all the speculation around his future, de Laurentiis has insisted that Osimhen will spend at least another year with the Italian side before they can contemplate cashing in on him. He said: “We will see Victor Osimhen wearing our shirt next season, that’s for sure. Then if a ‘more than indecent’ proposal arrives, we will move on and find another top talent as we did with Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen.”
This is the most blatant way of stating that the Nigeria international is not up for sale at the moment, and that Napoli will probably demand a huge amount of money to sell him to any other club next year, before using that money sale to sign another promising striker themselves.
Which Striker Are United Targeting?
Even though it now looks like they can’t sign the 24-year-old in the summer window, the Red Devils are going to push for a new striker signing in the summer after struggling for goals last season – scoring the fourth-fewest goals for any side in the top half of the Premier League last season.

United have been linked to multiple strikers, but they are reported to be preparing a bid to sign Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund – who scored 12 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions in the 22/23 campaign. The Danish striker is a promising youngster, but still not at the level of the goal machine that is the Napoli forward – whose unavailability this summer could frustrate a lot of Red Devils’ supporters.
