Romano claims that after they completed an agreement to sign Rice, the North London giants will now focus on getting the Timber deal over the line. This comes as he also gave his “here we go” for the Dutch defender’s deal and stated that Mikel Arteta’s side have agreed to pay a total fee of around £38.4 million to sign him from Ajax.

It’s also added that the 22-year-old has agreed on a five-year contract with them and was focused on joining Arsenal after being impressed with their future project under the Spanish manager. As it stands, it appears extremely likely that soon after the Gunners make the Rice deal official, they will move forward with completing a deal for the Netherlands international too.

What Can Timber Bring to Arsenal?

Timber is known for being quite versatile in being able to slot in as a centre-back or as a right-back if necessary, which can make him a solid addition to the Arsenal squad.

Timber is a quick defender who is also blessed with an impressive passing range and is fearless when it comes to defending against intimidating opposition. The 22-year-old has made 121 appearances for Ajax in his career, scoring six goals and providing four assists, while also having made 15 appearances for the Dutch national team. The Gunners appear to be getting a promising young defender here, and he can become a key player for them in the near future.
