Tottenham Are Set to Submit an Official Bid Worth €19M for Guglielmo Vicario

Tottenham are set to welcome a new goalkeeper to White Hart Lane with Guglielmo Vicario agreeing to personal terms and the cub set to table a bid worth €19m.

Manager Ange Postecoglou made upgrading the keeper position a priority after taking over in North London following Hugo Lloris’ latest decision. The Frenchman, who signed for Spurs from Lyon back in 2012, made it clear to the club that he planned to leave once his contract expired at the end of this month.

It sounds as though Postecoglou has got his man in the Italian international. Although he’s yet to make his senior debut for the national side, Vicario was recently called up by Roberto Mancini for the UEFA Nations League games against England and Hungary.

The 26-year-old stopper has reportedly agreed to a contract that will run until 2028. The 6’3 keeper is regarded as a good shot-stopper and is coming off a season where he kept 7 clean sheets for mid-table Empoli.

Spurs Not Willing to Meet £40M Price for Brentford’s Raya

Tottenham had previously agreed personal terms with Brentford’s Spanish goalkeeper David Raya but baulked at the asking price of £40 million.

Raya had suggested he was ready to take the next step in his career but admitted that the situation was largely out of his control with him contracted to the Bees until 2025.

Both The Guardian and Fabrizio Romano are reporting the fee for Vicario to be around £16.4 million, significantly lower than the one for Raya, and more in line with what Tottenham are looking to spend.
