According to a report by Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail, Harry Kane is hopeful of landing a move to Manchester United, but this can only come if Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy lowers his £100 million asking price for the “world class” Englishman to a fee closer to £80 million.
Tottenham Asking Price for Kane A Hurdle for Manchester United
Levy Demanding a Hefty Fee for Kane
Manchester United were believed to have ended their pursuit of Kane due to the demands of the notoriously difficult Daniel Levy who has never waivered from his £100 million valuation. The striker signed a 6-year deal back in 2018, but with that contract set to expire next summer, £100 million is a steep price to pay.
For the same reason, Utd won't meet the asking prices for Harry Kane (£100m) or Victor Osimhen (£120m). Rasmus Hojlund a more realistic target at £40-60m. Striker, mid and gk the priorities this summer. New cb and winger would be dependent on players being sold #mufc

Wheeler claims that United could be tempted back to the negotiating table, but only if the asking price was closer to £80 million. It’s believed that United have moved their focus onto Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund, but Erik ten Hag would prefer a striker who has a proven track record of scoring in the Premier League. Having scored 213 top-flight goals in his career and after hitting the 30 Premier League goal mark for the second time last season, Kane certainly fits that bill.

United won’t be locked in a transfer stand-off
Although Erik ten Hag would like to add Harry Kane to his squad in the hope of closing the gap on cross-city rivals Manchester City, Wheeler has confirmed that Ten Hag’s side won’t allow this transfer to drag on through the summer. The signing of a striker is likely to impact other deals, and Rasmus Hojlund is considered the more realistic option.
With Levy set to stick to his valuation, Kane is increasingly likely to be able to leave the North London club on a free transfer next summer.
