Arsenal have had their second bid for midfielder, Declan Rice, rejected. The Gunners offered the Hammers £75 million plus £15 million in add-ons for Rice, amounting to £90 Million, a “club-record offer,” per The Athletic. West Ham are expected to hold out for £100 million.

Gunners Closing In
As of right now, Mikel Arteta’s side is in the running to secure Rice and it is clear the player wants a move to the Emirates. That being said, it would not be entirely surprising if the midfielder were to join the treble-winning Citizens if Arsenal fail to meet West Ham’s demands, via Football365.

The London side are currently the main suitors for the Englan international having already lodged a bid for the player early in the window. With their second offer creeping closer to a solution, one would expect the deal to be done before long.
Romeo Lavia Alternative
Arsenal are keen to bolster their midfield before the start of the season. With players falling victim to injury late last season, their title hopes went swiftly out the door and into the grasp of Manchester City.
Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka are rumoured to be leaving the club this summer, as reported by CBS. Romeo Lavia is an option to strengthen the midfield, according to The Guardian. Lavia would be a premium choice for Arteta, especially if the Rice deal falls through.
Kai Haverts talks are advancing. The German would add firepower up front but won’t fill the gaps left by Partey or Xhaka, that role would have to fall on either the Southampton midfielder or the West Ham man.
