According to journalist Bobby Vincent, Chelsea star Mason Mount appeared emotional after the Blues’ final Premier League fixture of the season against Newcastle United on Sunday which ended in a 1-1 draw. The Englishman was also seen by one fan saying goodbye, which, coupled with his complex contract situation, seems to point towards a summer departure.
Manchester United are currently the most likely team to sign Mount in the next few months, with David Ornstein reporting earlier on Sunday that he is now leaning towards joining the Red Devils thanks in part to their Champions League qualification.

A Vital Summer for Manchester United
This summer could prove vital for United as they look to once again back manager Erik ten Hag in his rebuild of the club.

Midfield Must Be a Priority; Mason Mount Could Be the Man to Plug the Gap
One of the major priorities over the next few months for the Red Devils has to be improving the depth in their midfield.
It was painfully obvious to fans how much Ten Hag’s side missed any of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Bruno Fernandes when they were sidelined at various points throughout the season. As such, the acquisition of Mount – whom Chelsea value at £55 million – could prove a substantial boost, allowing for some leeway in the availability of the former Ajax manager’s star players in the middle of the park.
