Inter Milan have no immediate plans to sell their forward Lautaro Martinez in the summer window, their CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed. Manchester United reportedly identified the Argentine as a striking option in March this year as they aim to improve their squad next season.

What Did Inter-CEO Say About Martinez?
The Red Devils added an Argentine star to their squad in the form of Lisandro Martinez in the summer window, which turned out to be a brilliant signing as the centre-back vastly improved their defensive line for Erik ten Hag’s debut campaign.

However, it doesn’t seem like they’ll be able to sign Lautaro Martinez that easily. In a recent interview with Gazzetta dello Sport about the Argentine forward’s future at the club, Marotta said: “I think there are all the conditions for Lautaro to become our future captain.”
This is pretty much confirmation from the Inter CEO that there are no plans on selling the prized forward to the Red Devils or any other club. Martinez has been in impressive form this season, scoring 24 goals and providing 10 assists in 51 matches across all competitions for the Italian side. He’s helped them get to the UEFA Champions League semi-final. Martinez, who was also part of Argentina’s Qatar World Cup squad, has been hailed as “spectacular” by Lionel Messi.
United’s Summer Targets Apart From Martinez
Manchester United are expected to have a busy transfer window, and it’s been reported that they are prioritising the prospect of signing a new striker. They’re seemingly keen on a move for Harry Kane but could find it difficult due to his valuation.

The Red Devils are also reportedly in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani as they aim to add a quality goal-scorer to their squad to improve the team for next season. It remains to be seen whether United can sign Martinez after his impressive heroics with Inter this season.
