How Arsenal Have Lined-Up Recently
Mikel Arteta’s side might’ve seen their Premier League title dreams dented recently, but they remain determined to win all their remaining games. He’s been quite satisfied with playing the individuals responsible for taking Arsenal to where they are now and not rotating as much.
However, Arsenal have been forced into changing their backline as of late and could be forced to do so again on Sunday – with Ben White, Rob Holding, summer signing Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko likely to start this one. With that being said, the Gunners should retain the midfield line that played against Chelsea, and their frontline will include Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka, who will probably be partnered with Gabriel Martinelli – who was hailed as “phenomenal” by Arteta earlier this season.
Arsenal Recent Form and Tactics
The Gunners have experienced a dent of form over the last month or so, having only been able to win one of their previous five games in the Premier League – which also included a crushing loss to Manchester City.

Despite his side’s topsy-turvy run, Arteta remains constant with his 4-3-3 formation and encourages attacking football. He’ll want them to move the ball around swiftly and for his forwards to rotate, in order to cause trouble for Newcastle.
In his system, Arsenal players are urged to use width to their advantage when progressing the ball – with wingers mostly looking to move central to create chances or shoot on goal. The Gunners will look to use their free-flowing, possession-heavy style to build up promising moves on the counter-attacks.
Arsenal Key Players
The Gunners have been reliant on star winger Bukayo Saka to cause trouble for the opposition this season. The Englishman’s clever dribbling ability, pace and lethal final product should help him torment the Newcastle defenders – with Areta hoping he can deliver in the final third.
Martin Odegaard is in rich form after his brace against Chelsea. He’ll look to use his clever positioning to get into vital scoring areas while also dictating the attacks with his cutting-edge final third passes. Martinelli can trouble teams with his incisiveness and speed, which he’ll aim to use to his advantage to set up some big opportunities. Jesus needs to maintain his nice knack of getting into prime scoring areas and finishing chances off clinically.

Even though Arsenal will play on the front foot in this, they can’t disregard Newcastle’s attacking quality. That means their backline needs to be at its best to keep their side in the game.
Arsenal Injuries to Consider
William Saliba remains on the sideline with the injury which started the beginning of a challenging period for Arsenal. Gabriel Magalhaes is a major doubt for this game too. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohammad Elneny are injured too.
