Patino Unwilling to Accept Another Loan Move
The English midfielder has been a part of the Gunners since he was 12, having joined them in 2015. He spent six years in their youth academy before receiving a senior call-up in 2021. However, after not getting a place in Mikel Arteta’s squad, he was loaned out to Blackpool last season.

Ornstein adds that Patino is not willing to accept another loan move and is pushing to leave the club permanently after realizing that he won’t be getting a major role in the first-team squad anytime soon. It’s also stated that the Gunners are themselves also quite receptive to the possibility of having to sell the highly-rated young midfielder.
Ornstein claims that Patino’s agents have already held amicable talks with Arsenal, who are themselves also ready to push through a move amid interest from clubs in England as well as those in other countries. Arsenal are stacked in midfield after signing Jorginho from Chelsea in the summer, while they’ve been reported to still be interested in a move to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
How Patino Has Performed at the Senior Level So Far
After impressing as part of Arsenal’s youth clubs over the last few years, Patino decided to leave the club on loan last summer and join Blackpool on a loan deal. Despite seeing them get relegated into League One at the end of this season, Patino has held his head high with an impressive loan spell.

He scored two goals and provided four assists in 33 appearances in the Championship this season. The 19-year-old is known for being a very creative player with an impressive vision and was praised earlier this season, with Fulham youngster Georgios Okkas claiming that Patino’s quality is ‘out of this world’. The teenager has admitted in the past that his playing style is influenced by former Arsenal midfielders Santi Cazorla and Cesc Fabregas and he’s even been dubbed as ‘the next Frenkie de Jong’ in the past for possessing similar traits to the Barcelona star.
