The Chelsea ownership have been dealt a major blow according to a new report from Fabrizio Romano. Julian Nagelsmann, their “top candidate” to replace Graham Potter, has reportedly pulled out of the race for the vacancy.
After what is described as multiple rounds of talked the German “has now withdrawn from the race” to become the new head coach at Stamford Bridge.

Romano indicates that the former Bayern Munich manager was the first choice for the club’s hierarchy. He is coming off an impressive stint in charge of the Bundesliga champion in which he won 71% of his games in charge, losing just 10 times during his spell in charge.

He previously worked at RB Leipzig, a team that Todd Boehly and co. have tried to replicate with their multi-club model and use of young talent. This is likely why they gravitated towards the 35-year-old coach.
