After a strong performance at the weekend against Southampton, Javi Gracia’s side come into a tricky FA Cup tie against Fulham on Tuesday night. How Leeds United Lined Up Recently

Leeds United’s first match under Javi Gracia saw a 4-4-2 formation that became a 4-2-4 fairly consistently. Illan Meslier was protected by Robin Koch and Max Wober, with Luke Ayling and Junior Firpo given a new license to bomb forwards in the attack. Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie screened the defenders in midfield.

In front of the midfield, Wilfried Gnonto and Jack Harrison played on the wings, hugging their respective touchlines. This gave Patrick Bamford more space to operate, with Brenden Aaronson playing as a slightly deeper second striker.

Leeds United Injuries

The Whites have a few injury concerns to think about. Rodrigo remains out of contention, with no news on Adam Forshaw, Luis Sinisterra and Archie Gray. Stuart Dallas is still struggling with a long-term injury, but Pascal Struijk could be able to return from a concussion.

One potential issue for the side in this match could be Wilfried Gnonto. The Italian was a surprise early substitute from Gracia, coming off for Crysensio Summerville. As the change came immediately after a crunching challenge, the Whites’ manager could leave him out against Fulham to keep him fresh for the match against Chelsea.

Javi Gracia’s Press Conference

Javi Gracia has a very different style to Jesse Marsch, being one of silence and secrecy rather than the American’s transparent, all-talking style. The press learned relatively little in his pre-match conference, but found out that the Spaniard has a love of the FA Cup, and “always tried to choose the best eleven to start the game”. Fans can expect to see a strong squad this week, with rotation only really coming through injury.
