Manchester United are keeping Barcelona winger Ansu Fati in mind as a potential transfer option for the summer transfer window, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. The young Spaniard has struggled to get starts for the La Liga side since the arrival of Robert Lewandowski.

Jorge Mendes Could be Important
Romano adds that the Red Devils share an excellent relationship with Fati’s agent Jorge Mendes, who has been responsible for negotiating some major deals for the club – including the return of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2021. Per Romano, they are also known to have always appreciated the young Barcelona forward after having seen him make a breakthrough at a very early age.

It is also added that United are keeping an eye on the 20-year-old’s situation at the Spotify Camp Nou and are open to making a move for him in the summer, especially if they can get new owners later this year.
Playing Time is Scarce
After struggling with injury problems in recent years, only making 15 appearances last season, Fati has been able to regain fitness and avoid the injury bug in this campaign. However, the Barcelona no.10 hasn’t started as many games as he’d really like to, only starting nine games so far this season.

In fact, the 20-year-old has only completed 90 minutes in two appearances for the La Liga side. It has been reported that the Catalan giants would sell the youngster if he makes the first move and really pushes for a transfer in the summer. Fati is rumoured to have weekly wages of £238,000 at the Spanish club and currently has an £892 million release clause inserted into his contract – meaning he won’t be available for anything cheap.
