Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Depart Chelsea at the End of the Season
David Ornstein has previously reported that Barcelona did try to re-sign the Gabonese striker in the January transfer window, but that move failed to materialise.
However, Romano believes that Chelsea will “100%” get rid of Aubameyang after leaving him out of their Champions League squad – the biggest indication that he is no longer an important player for Graham Potter’s squad.
The transfer guru wrote: “It was impossible for Barcelona to proceed due to FIFA rules, they like the player but nothing else because of official rules. I think Aubameyang will 100% leave Chelsea in 2023, the plan is clear.”

The ex-Arsenal captain has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge after producing a string of poor performances, allowing Kai Havertz to assume the permanent starting role of the number nine under Potter at the moment.
Aubameyang’s Future Left With Uncertainty as Chelsea Set to Revamp Squad
Chelsea made a statement of intent in the winter transfer window, signing eight players and spending over £300 million in transfer fees. That involved bolstering their attack with players such as Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix.
In addition, the club also have Christopher Nkunku joining them in the summer of next season, likely to be Aubameyang’s replacement in the squad.
The 33-year-old striker is currently reportedly on hefty £170,000-a-week wages, making him an expensive option to have on the bench should that be the case.

The striker has made 18 appearances for Chelsea this season, scoring 3 goals and providing an assist – which included just one goal in the Premier League. Since joining the Blues last year, he has struggled to impress at Stamford Bridge and seems destined to be sold soon.
