Kepa Arizzabalaga – 7

Good 1st half save from Pereira and handy when called upon. Didn’t have a great deal to do.

Reece James – 6

Defensively solid, didn’t look fully fit yet managed to put in some dangerous crosses.

Thiago Silva – 7

Captain on the night and fantastic as per usual. Negotiations for a contract extension are well-deserved, the veteran defender is still one of the best in the league.

Benoit Badiashile – 7

Comfortable in possession and reliable when called upon in defence. The positive start to his Chelsea career continues.

Marc Cucurella – 5

Poor, and was unable to impact the game. Run ragged by Decordova-Reid on the wing.

Conor Gallagher – 5

Negative in possession, rarely played a pass forward. Feisty in the challenge, booked.

Enzo Fernandez – 8(MOTM)

Excellent in possession, and a far more forward-thinking midfielder than those around him. Inches away from a screamer on debut.

Hakim Ziyech – 5

Ineffective throughout. Looked as if his mind was in Paris.

Mason Mount – 5

Another sub-par performance from the England international, who simply doesn’t look to be on the same wavelength as his teammates. Worked hard but created very little.

Mykhailo Mudryk – 5

Hardly had a kick in the first half. Taken off at half-time, perhaps unfairly.

Kai Havertz – 5

Great movement, should’ve scored twice in the first half. Went missing in the second half and always looked poor in possession.

Noni Madueke (Substitute) – 7

Very bright after coming on and injected much-needed pace into the Chelsea attack.

Raheem Sterling (Substitute) – 6

Looked better than some of his teammates but had little impact during his 30 minutes on the pitch.

Cesar Azpilicueta (Substitute) – 6

Hardly noticeable on his 501st appearance. Didn’t put a foot wrong.

David Datro Fofana (Substitute) – 6

Showed brilliant skill to round the goalkeeper, and would’ve scored the winner if not for a clearance off the line. More lively up top than Havertz had been.

Ben Chilwell(Substitute) – N/A
