Conor Gallagher’s Time at Stamford Bridge
Gallagher’s time with Chelsea’s senior squad has not gone as well as he would have hoped. The 22-year-old made his first-team debut earlier this season after impressing on his previous loan stints at Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion. Under Patrick Vieira’s tutelage at Palace, the youngster contributed with 11 goals and assists in the 2021/22 Premier League season. He was subsequently called up to the English international squad by manager Gareth Southgate.

In his 18 appearances for the Blues this season, the young midfielder has managed to score only one goal. He has also found himself in and out of the starting lineup which has further hampered his development. With the West London club bringing in a number of attacking reinforcements in January, there is a possibility he falls out of favour with Graham Potter.

The Eagles are keen on bringing Gallagher back to Selhurst Park. Reports say that the club would ideally want to loan out the young midfielder. However, they would also be open to selling him if an offer of £35-40 million was to be made. For now, there is no official contact between the clubs, per Romano. In the meantime, Gallagher will be hoping to impress everyone at Chelsea with his on-field performances.
