Tottenham Hotspur have seen their offer of around £12 million for Leandro Trossard rejected by Brighton & Hove Albion, claims The Athletic’s David Ornstein. The Belgian’s future is in doubt after he had an altercation with manager Roberto de Zerbi and left a training session without explanation earlier this month.

Brighton Won’t Sell Trossard for Cheap
Earlier this month, it was also indicated by the Belgium winger’s agent Josy Comhair that he is in no talks with De Zerbi after the altercation that happened between them. He even insisted that Brighton should try to facilitate a transfer for Trossard in January as he wants a new challenge in his career.
Amid all this, Tottenham decided to test the waters a little bit by verbally offering a £12 million fee to the Seagulls in a bid to get them to sell. Instead, Ornstein adds that it was swiftly rejected because, despite all the drama that is going on, they value their winger much higher than that.

Spurs have also not followed up on their interest for Leandro Trossard since then, which could indicate that they do not want to spend a higher fee than that on signing him. Antonio Conte’s side are in shaky form right now, having moved out of the Premier League top four.

However, it now appears that he is looking to join a major club after enjoying a pretty good season with Brighton. He’s scored seven goals and provided three assists in 16 Premier League appearances this season, which involved a rare hattrick against Liverpool at Anfield. But with Leandro Trossard now stuck in an apparent sticky situation with Brighton, it’s unclear what lies in his future as he tries to orchestrate a move elsewhere.
