Leeds United Predicted Lineup vs Aston Villa
How Leeds United Have Lined-up Recently
Leeds United are undergoing something of a transition recently, but the lineup has stayed mostly the same. Illan Meslier plays in goal behind centre-backs Liam Cooper and Robin Koch, with Rasmus Kristensen and Pascal Struijk defending out wide. Tyler Adams and Marc Roca play as a double pivot to protect the back line and distribute the ball.
The line of three in front of Adams and Roca is varying in recent weeks due to injury and form but typically sees Wilfried Gnonto on the left accompanied by Brenden Aaronson in the middle and Jack Harrison to the right. Rodrigo is the Whites’ mainstay up front this season, having found a rich vein of form.
Leeds United Recent Form and Tactics
Elland Road has seen incredibly shaky form in recent weeks. A loss to Manchester City was to be expected, and the club managed to grind out a tricky draw away at Newcastle on New Year’s Eve. This has been followed by two consecutive 2-2 draws against West Ham United and Cardiff City, with the defence posing some of the biggest questions for Jesse Marsch.
The team’s recent tactical transformation appears to be having mixed results, too. A switch to a 4-3-3 in defence sees the likes of Crysencio Summerville tucking into midfield, with Pascal Struijk staying back for attacks in an attempt to bring more defensive solidity through an “elbow” system. Loyal Whites will be hoping for more clean sheets in the coming weeks and months.

Leeds United Injuries to Consider
Jesse Marsch has a few selection decisions to make. Patrick Bamford has finally made a return from injury and could play a significant role, hoping for an impact before Georginio Rutter joins the club. Max Wober is fit, but may not yet have the training behind him to start.
Missing players could be a big issue for this match. Crysencio Summerville and Luis Sinisterra are still struggling with injury issues, as Adam Forshaw’s minor injury could mean a lack of midfield depth. Stuart Dallas is still yet to recover, with Archie Gray suffering from an illness.
