The Premier League side already have a deal in place for the Ivorian forward and are ready to pay a fee of around £10.5 million to Molde for his acquisition. They have also agreed personal terms with Fofana himself and currently have everything in place to announce his signing very soon.

The 20-year-old is expected to be drafted straight into the first-team squad rather than being put in with the U21 side for the time being. With Graham Potter having Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as his only forward option, he needs another natural striker in his squad to add more depth for the second half of the season.

Chelsea’s Pre-January Transfer Splurge

It appears that Chelsea are not waiting for the January transfer window and are instead getting most of their deals done well before that. The Blues have already agreed the brilliant signing of RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku, who will join them in the summer.

Todd Boehly has also added another one for the future in the form of Andrey Santos, who will join the club from Brazilian side Vasco and be treated as a prospect. But Fofana is expected to be the first player among these to be officially unveiled as a new Blue, with the London giants wanting to integrate him into the first team quickly.
