United’s Short Statement on Ronaldo’s Departure
The Red Devils took little time in making their decision on how to punish the 37-year-old after he complained about the various problems within the club and accused them of failing to evolve as a club over the last decade. They’ve decided to let him go altogether before Portugal’s opening game in the World Cup against Ghana on Thursday.

Ronaldo Reacts to United Departure
Ronaldo has not minced words with how annoyed he was at his second stint at Old Trafford and blurted out all his feelings in the controversial interview recently.
He has also released an official statement on his departure from Old Trafford, as he said: “Following conversations with Manchester United, we have mutually agreed to end our contract early. “I love United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge.
“I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future.”
The 37-year-old has a pretty frustrating start to the 2022/23 season under Erik ten Hag, being benched for major games against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. He even left the Spurs game early after feeling disrespected at being asked to come on for the last three minutes of the game.
