Canada Predicted Lineup vs Belgium
How Canada Have Lined-up Recently
Canada play in something of a 3-4-1-2 formation. Milan Borjan starts in goal, with Steven Vitoria, Kamal Miller and Alistair Johnson protecting him. Sam Adekugbe and Tajon Buchanan protect the back-line from the wide positions.
Atiba Hutchinson and Stephen Eustaquio play in central midfield, providing support for the front line. A relatively set front line includes Alphonso Davies on the left-wing, Jonathan David to the right and Cyle Larin in the middle.
Canada Recent Form and Tactics
The Maple Leafs are currently on a mixed run of form. The last five matches have seen victories over fellow World Cup attendees Qatar and Japan, with losses to Honduras and Uruguay. A 2-2 draw with Bahrain makes Canada’s form perfectly balanced.
The side looks to be as dangerous as possible on the break. This is thanks to the pace of David and Davies, with the Bayern Munich left-back using his skills far higher up the pitch on the international stage.
Canada Injuries to Consider
The Canadian squad is missing a few major players through injury. This includes Maxime Crepeau, one of the strongest goalkeepers in MLS and arguably a starter at this World Cup.
Although Alphonso Davies has suffered with injuries of late and remains something of a doubt, he’ll look to force his way into the side. If he’d want to play any match at this World Cup, it would be the Pot A opposition, Belgium.
