How Arsenal Have Lined-up Recently
Mikel Arteta’s side have recently been lining up in a 4-3-3 structure, making full use of centre-backs all across the defensive line. It isn’t unheard of to see Aaron Ramsdale protected by Gabriel, William Saliba, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu this season.
This line has protection from Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka in midfield, with Martin Odegaard taking on the number 10 role as an advanced midfielder. Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka start on the wings, with Gabriel Jesus drifting across the front line and providing plenty of versatility.
Arsenal Recent Form and Tactics
Arsenal’s recent form has been excellent. The North London side hasn’t lost in the league since the first match of September against Manchester United, and although Leeds United put Mikel Arteta’s tactics to the sword, this was through a fairly unique and high-pressing style of play.
Expect The Emirates to see a standard 4-3-3 with a focus on possession football this weekend, as Nottingham Forest don’t offer a unique enough threat to force a significant change away from the tactics that have seen the home side stay at the top of the league.
Arsenal Injuries to Consider
The Gunners are holding up fairly well on the injury front at the moment. The only senior players that were likely to be in contention on the list are Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is out with an injury to the lower leg, and Emile Smith Rowe, who the club expect to come back after the World Cup in Qatar.
Other injuries include Marquinhos, who is out with a fever but may recover to the bench in time, and Mohamed Elneny, who will miss a significant proportion of the season.
