Five-time UEFA Champions League winner and current Manchester United star Casemiro recently opened up on whether the English Premier League is more competitive compared to La Liga.
Casemiro joined United this summer after spending nine years at Real Madrid. At the Spanish club, he won three La Liga titles, one Copa Del Rey, and five Champions League trophies from 336 appearances. In August this year, the Brazilian international signed for the Red Devils for a reported £60 million. Since coming to Old Trafford, he has featured mainly on the bench while trying to cement his place in the starting eleven under Erik ten Hag.

Having spent nine years with arguably the most successful club in history, it is safe to say that Casemiro is aware of the challenges he is presented within the Premier League. The league has often been touted as one of, if not the most competitive football league in the world.
The former Champions League Winner recently sat down with United’s in-house media for an interview. When asked about whether the Premier League is more competitive than other leagues and how different it is from La Liga, the Brazilian international stated that the English league is more physical. He added that in Spain, players “aim to play the ball more.”
He said: “They are different leagues. I believe it’s more physical here, in Spain, they aim to play the ball more. I think all competitions are very tough. After all, football is about the ball and playing the game. I think there is something special in every league and competition.
“We all know the Premier league is very tough. All the teams here are good and in great physical condition. I am trying to adapt as quickly as possible.”

Casemiro on Whether He Looks at His Ball Recovery and Other Stats Immediately After Games
The former Real Madrid has a reputation for being one of the most statistically-minded players in the world. His current and former teammates have often said in different interviews that he loves to look at the stats immediately after games.
During the same interview, Casemiro opened up on whether the rumours were true. He stated that he often watches games three or four times, and it’s his key to keep evolving in the sport.
He added: “I look at them a lot and enjoy it [statistics]. I think I watch through my games three or four times over. Yes, it’s the way you learn and develop by correcting errors. I think it’s key to keep evolving in football.”
Casemiro will look to start for Manchester United once again over the weekend when the Red Devils face Newcastle United. The Brazilian star is fresh off a brilliant performance against Omonia Nicosia in the UEFA Europa League. He will look to replicate his performance once again if given the opportunity by Erik ten Hag.
