Nizaar Kinsella of the Evening Standard has issued a report on Barcelona and their intent to sign the Chelsea midfield duo of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.
The pair are out of contract in the summer of 2023, which means they would be available on free transfers – something the Spanish side have been forced to focus on since their spending has been limited by La Liga rules.
Kinsella reports that the Catalan giants want to exploit the contract situation in London and are “keen to sign” both players.

N’Golo Kante
The situation with the Frenchman remains open as the Blues are willing to negotiate a new deal. The hangup is that they want to reduce the £290,000 a week wage payment to the former Leicester City man following his recent struggles with injury. Kante is said to be happy to remain with the team but would be open to a move to other major clubs.

Jorginho
The Italian’s passing range and ability is sure to keep him in big demand, especially with clubs in Spain and Italy. He has mostly lost out in the starting lineup to Mateo Kovacic, who plays a similar playmaking role, but gets significant minutes regardless. Jorginho is also open to remaining at Stamford Bridge but is aware that interest could come from all around Europe for his services.
