After a slow start to the transfer window, Manchester United fans finally have some exciting news to shout about. At their game against Liverpool on Monday evening, Casemiro will be unveiled in front of the Old Trafford faithful in a similar vein to how former Real Madrid teammate Raphael Varane was announced last summer.
This comes according to Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic, who say that this will be a whirlwind 24 hours for the Brazilian, replicating the transfer progress that brought him to Manchester. The report also reveals that including wages (around £375,000 per week) and transfer fee (£70 million), this deal could cost United up to £140 million by the time we reach 2026 – when his contract is set to expire.

Finally Some Good News for Manchester United Fans
It has not been a good last few weeks for fans of the Red Devils.
They have started the Premier League season with two losses – one against Brighton and Hove Albion and a 4-0 humiliation against Brentford – and have seen little success in the transfer window thus far.

Bringing in Christian Eriksen on a free transfer was a very smart signing, while Tyrell Malacia providing high-quality competition for Luke Shaw is also important. Lisandro Martinez has likewise strengthened the centre of their defence. However, none of these signings has improved areas where United are really weak, and nor are any of them nailed on star players who will transform Erik ten Hag’s side.
Casemiro should do that, though.

After patiently pursuing Ten Hag’s number one target Frenkie de Jong all summer, they finally switched their attention to Casemiro last week and were able to complete the deal with alarming speed. He should be available for their trip to Southampton on August 27th.
